The investment banking team is responsible for the origination and execution of capital market and M&A transactions within Nigeria. This involves providing support and advice to companies, various financial sponsors, and the Nigerian government.
The investment banker in this role will provide support to senior team members in executing various transactions within the defined scope of activities.
Your activities as a team member may include the following tasks:
- Preparation of pitch books, company valuation reports and other deal road show marketing material
- Preparation / drafting of information / offering memorandum and discussion papers for client transactions
- Preparation and audit of financial models in MS excel for internal purposes and on advisory transactions. Knowledge of merger modelling is advantageous.
- Researching the market and presenting findings and suggestions for merger and acquisition prospects for the business.
- Preparation of financial reports based on shared private and public information, inclusive of the prospective business’s company revenue, staff resources assessments, and general due diligence.
- Training and mentoring junior members of the team to enable transfer of relevant skills and knowledge
- Maintaining and strengthening relationships acquired through transactions with select corporate clients and financial investors
Required skills / experience
- A degree in economics, engineering, or a similar field.
- A master’s degree in finance will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience as an Investment Banker for at least 5 years.
- Must have experience with transaction execution across different industries in Nigeria
- Experience and expertise with valuation, financial modeling, and forecasting
- Knowledge of regulations covering securities and M&A in Nigeria
- Solid grasp of current market developments
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Outstanding communication ability (written and oral)
- Strong work ethic and professionalism
- A professional qualification (CFA, ACCA) is an advantage
- A good understanding of IB products
